In the framework of the 9th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards Ceremony, the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus), awarded foreign companies that believed in our country’s development potential and invested in our country, thereby contributing to the development of the economy. 
 
The Invest Cyprus Awards - which returned after a one-year break due to the pandemic - were held under the auspices of the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasiades. The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in the gardens of the Presidential Palace and in the presence of foreign investors, the business world and Cyprus’ political and state leadership.
 
The winners of this year's awards were PLUS500, ENESEL LIMITED, ESYBRAIN LTD, EXNESS, PARIMATCH TECH and NEXTERS, as well as entrepreneur Teddy Sagi.

In his address, the President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, emphasized the significance of the awards, which, as he stated, are a first-class opportunity for the Republic of Cyprus to express its appreciation and gratitude to the foreign businesspeople who believed in the Cyprus economy and invested in our country. The President stressed Invest Cyprus’ important role and its intensive efforts to promote Cyprus as an investment destination and a competitive business hub abroad. He also referred to the latest reforms implemented by the Government to improve the investment climate in the country, as well as the government’s next steps in this direction. As he explained, in the coming months, the Government will announce a new incentive scheme to attract high-tech companies, which will facilitate the establishment and hiring of employees, also offering tax incentives and expedited licensing procedures.
 
Invest Cyprus’ CEO, Mr George Campanellas also addressed the event on behalf of the organisation. He talked about the economic benefits of attracting foreign investments and international companies, which choose to transfer their activities to our country. Describing the progress made, even under the difficult conditions brought about by the pandemic, Mr. Campanellas highlighted the contribution of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency in the efforts to overcome economic recession, return to growth and create conditions for long-term prosperity. In addition, Mr. Campanellas, placed special emphasis on one of the main pillars of the Organization's Strategy, which was implemented in 2019, and concerns the efforts made by Invest Cyprus to turn our country into an attractive destination for international tech companies.
 
The awards were presented by PwC Cyprus, as platinum sponsor. The CEO of the Company Evgenios Evgeniou noted that PwC Cyprus supports Invest Cyprus’s efforts in this difficult time for our country, immediately after the peak of the financial crisis. "As a country, we must intensify our efforts, bearing in mind that investments must be a key component of our strategy that will shape the future. We believe that cooperation between the public and private sector is essential, in order to achieve a successful outcome”. 
 
The awards were organized by Gold magazine and Invest Cyprus and were presented by PwC Cyprus.The Gold Sponsor of the event was Eurobank Cyprus. The awards were powered by ECOMMBX. Alpha Cyprus was the Communication Sponsor.
