Thai investor submits bid to Energy Minister in presence of CIPA Chairman and Vice Chairman
After a procedure which lasted several months, an official bid to develop Cyprus’ first ever Technological Park was submitted today to the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis.
The bid was submitted by a public company registered in Thailand with extensive experience in the field of high technology, as it manages a significant number of technological parks worldwide.
The company’s official bid was submitted to the ministry by the investor himself on 20 January, in the presence of CIPA Chairman and Vice Chairman Christodoulos Angastiniotis and Angelos Gregoriades. During the submission of the bid, Mr Lakkotrypis congratulated the Agency on the successful outcome of its efforts and reiterated the significance the Ministry and the State attach to its mission to promote Cyprus abroad as an attractive investment destination.
Mr Angastiniotis expressed his satisfaction at this positive development, noting that it was “indicative of the positive prospects foreign investors see in significant, traditional but also emerging sectors of the Cyprus economy. CIPA will remain in the front line of efforts to modernise and strengthen the country’s business environment and of targeted campaigns to promote Cyprus in the international community”.
The next step in the procedure is the immediate evaluation of the bid by the relevant authorities with the aim of awarding the tender the soonest possible.
